The course of studies comprises three components:

• Theory modules
• Context modules
• Specialization with Master thesis

90 ECTS points are awarded, of which the theory and context modules make up around a third and the specialization with Master thesis around two-thirds.

Full-time Master’s students attend lectures as part of the theory and context modules on two and three days per week respectively in the first and second semesters. These lectures take place in convenient central locations. During the rest of the week, they study at the UAS offering their chosen specialization. A high proportion of self-study fosters their ability to learn and solve problems independently.

At the start of the study program, Master’s students determine with their advisor which theory and context modules they will attend. The choice of specialization and the individual study agreement mean that each student develops his or her unique plan of study.
